Step by step installation & configuration NetApp 9.6 (ONTAP)

 NetApp ONTAP System Manager (previously called as OnCommand System Manager) is single spectrum ONTAP tool to manage your storage across architectures.

Login to vCenter -> Select Cluster Name -> Right Click or Click on Action -> Select Deploy OVF Template


Select Local file -> click on choose files

Select NetApp .OVF file -> Open

Click Next

Give Virtual Machine Name -> Select Datacenter -> Next

From Compute resource select ESXI host -> Next

Click Next

Select Storage  -> Select Virtual disk format thin provision  -> Next

Select Network from the list

Click Finish to start deploy.

Right click and power ON

Type Yes for start configuration

Press enter without entering anything ->

Enter IP Address for Management interface ->

Press Enter to setup cluster or you can use GUI to setup

Type Create if you want to create new cluster or type join if you want to join existing one.

Type Yes if you want to create single node cluster

Enter admin password

Enter cluster name

Enter License key or press enter to skip it latter through GUI you can enter

Enter port Name e0c

Enter IP address for cluster management interface

Enter DNS Name and DNS IP -> Press enter

Enter Login ID and Password

Use Cluster IP to access console -> enter user name (admin) default account





















 

























VMWare Log insight 8.4 installation and configuration step by step

Requirement for Log insight

Download setup .OVF file

vCenter server & ESXI host

Global Administrator access on vCenter

Login to vCenter



Right click and deploy ovf template



Select local file-> choose and brose -> select log insight ovf file -> Next



Give Name and select folder where you want to provision log insight VM->



Expend cluster and select ESXI host on which you want to deploy it. Press next





Accept EULA -> Next



Select deployment size



Select datastore and virtual disk format



Select network and IP protocol (IPv4)



Give Hostname

Assign IP Address

Assign Subnet Mask

Assign Default Gateway

Assign DNS

Assign root credentials



Click finish for final deployment

Once deployment will complete



Power ON the VM.



Login with root 

Password -> *****


Enter vRealize log insight IP address



Enter Username -: Default it will take admin

Email -:   Enter email address

New password-: Enter password for Admin




Enter License Key or skip and assign key later




Enter email id for system notification and HTTP system post notification or click save and continue





Enter NTP servers details or select time Sync with ESXI host -> Save and continue



Enter SMTP Server details-:

Sender email ID-:

Click send test email-:

Save and continue



Configure SSL here or Skip and Save and continue



Click finish




Now all done for installation and configuration






How to Deploy VM in Hyper V step by step

 VM deployment in Hyper V cluster step by step

Login to Hyper V server -> Open failover cluster Manager



Select Roles -> Click on Virtual Machine

Select node from the list where you want to deploy VM

Click Next

Enter VM Name -> check mark on Store the virtual machine in a different location box

Browse and assign ClusterStorage path -> Select Volume -> Create folder

Select Virtual switch

Give VM Name and assign Disk size


Click finish


Click Finish

























How to configure Failover cluster step by step

 Configure Failover cluster step by step

Now login to server with administrator privilege account or delegate user account to create computer object and update DNS entry and login with that ID.

Open failover cluster manager


Click on Create Cluster

Enter both nodes Name and click Add -> Next

Select Run all tests ->Next

Now  validation will start for all HW and Software installed in both nodes

Validation is in progress

Check mark on create the cluster now using the validated node

Give cluster Name and assign IP address.

Check mark on add all eligible storage to the cluster -> It's up to you, you can select storage latter as well.
